Paper Description and Rubric

Assignment Summary: Track weekly stock prices in a spreadsheet and prepare a 3-5-page summary paper of your findings.

FINAL PAPER FORMAT

· 3-5-page paper is due to be uploaded to your course shell in week 5, by Sunday, 9/27/20 evening at 11:59 pm.

· This paper is worth 100 points. The entire project, including paper and weekly spreadsheets submissions, is worth 200 points.

· Follow APA format, double space, include a title and a reference page. Note: The 3-5 pages requirement does not include the title page and reference page.

· You may turn this paper at any time after the last data collection date.

CONTENT:

During this course, we will discuss many different issues related to your equity tracking project including Market capitalization, Beta, EPS, P/E, Stock Splits, Share Prices, and issues regarding specific firms and their corresponding market sectors. In addition, your analysis should include firm-specific and systematic risk analysis. Use data and/or graphs to support your analysis. How does risk correspond to valuation? Audience: Employer

Individual Assignment

Tasks:

· Calculate the Variance and Standard Deviation of the stocks.

· Analyze these values for each firm

· Compare these values between firms

· Find (or calculate) a Beta estimate for each company

· Compare and contrast these Beta estimates

· What is the difference between the two types of measures?

· How do these ideas contribute to the valuation of the firm?

Basic content of the paper should include the following three sections:

1. Introduction. Brief information about the company. Information about the sector, and top companies within the sector.

2. The Analysis. Variables you are reporting on. Your companies compared to industry and top companies in the industry. How does risk correspond to valuation?

3. Conclusions. Would you buy? Why? Why Not?
